    There is an art to structuring a good story, and it is best accomplished during the all-important pre-writing phase of developing a work. This FREE presentation will address Basic Three Act Structure, and the use of Plot Points and Turning Points to build conflict and move the story forward toward the Climax and Resolution. Presented by John Boles, an award-winning writer, producer, director, editor, and actor with more than twenty-five years’ experience in the entertainment industry.   • Holiday Craft Series

    chalkSaturday, December 15 from 10 am - 5 pm

    Come to the library and use your creative skills to make some homemade holiday presents, ornaments, or anything you like!  Different crafts and supplies will be available each day of the series.  Crafts available are appropriate for all ages, from babies to teens. 

    The Holiday Craft Series will run select days from December 12 - December 21.  Each session runs for two hours, unless otherwise noted.

     

  • Jacksonville Genealogy Society Presents: The Trail from You to Your Ancestor @ Bartram Trail

    The Jacksonville Genealogy Society will be holding a three-session Intermediate Genealogy Class, featuring research in the U.S. It will be held from 10:15 am to 2:15 pm at the Bartram Trail Branch Library on the following Saturdays: December 1st, 8th, and 15th. Topics will include: Genealogical identification; records & sources - analysis & evaluation; vital records (government & church); land records; immigration & naturalization; often overlooked sources; planning a research trip; publishing your history, and more. Certificates of completion will be given to those persons who attend at least two of the three class dates. There is no charge to attend this class and free parking is available at the library.
