  • After-School Crafts with Teens

    art programWednesday, January 9  from 4 - 5 pm

    Children in Kindergarten - 5th grade ONLY and their caregivers are invited to make crafts with the teens of Nease High School's Arts in Motion Club! Materials are provided thanks to Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, no registration needed, and it's FREE! Please Note:  All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program and starting in January 2013, this program moves from the 1st to the 2nd Wednesday of every month!

  • Literary Lions Book Club: Any Book by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings

    Saturday, February 9 @ 10:30 am
    Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings was a Pulitzer-winning author who lived in rural Cross Creek, Florida, and wrote novels and stories focusing on rural themes and settings, including The Yearling and Cross Creek. This month you are invited to read any of her works for our book club. Enjoy sharing your thoughts of the book, along with coffee & refreshments, courtesy of the Friends of the Library.

     

  • Gentle Stretching with Gina Marie

    Gentle StretchingWednesday, January 9 @ 10:30 am
    This FREE class emphasizes stretching, coordination of breath with movement, and attention to alignment. The class is designed to create breath awareness, enhance balance, and increase flexibility. Stretching is great for those who are experiencing joint sensitivity, or overall stiffness. Wear loose clothing, bring a towel & mat. Presented by licensed yoga instructor, Gina Mercado. 

     

  • Family Event: Teddy Bear Sleepover

    If your little one has ever asked the question, "What does my teddy bear do all night?," then this is the perfect children's program for your family.  Bring your teddy bear or another stuffed friend to our super-sweet Teddy Bear Sleepover Party! We'll tell stories, share fun crafts, have a bedtime snack, and tuck our little friends into bed for a sleepover at the library. Pick up your friend a couple of days later after the sleepover fun is done, along with a special souvenir! Be sure to check out some of our teddy bear books.  Shhh...teddy bears sleeping…

     

  • Appy Hour!

    Wednesday, January 9 @ 4 pm

    ipadStop by the library and share your favorite apps for Nook, Kindle Fire, Android, iPhone, iPad or iPod with us and learn about cool apps that other people have discovered!  Also get some hands on time with the library's iPad 3, Nook and Kindle Fire and the awesome apps we have found and downloaded. 

     


  • Just For Babies

    Join Miss Kristine and Miss Alex every Wednesday for quality time with your baby or toddler.  Enjoy songs, stories, fingerplays, games, and so much more during this lapsit program.  Duffy the Storytime Bear is looking forward to meeting you under the parachute!  Older siblings are welcome to stick around for Family Storytime right after.

    This season we will continue with our alphabet "letter days."  Today is "M" day.

    Receive a goody bag when you attend Just For Babies for the first time!

     

  • Homeschool Hoopla

    Join our homeschool group... right after storytime!  Starting at 12 pm, socialize with other homeschool kids and parents during a bring-your-own brown bag “Library Lunch."  Then join our Library Skills class at 12:30 pm, where you and your child will learn together how to use library resources, from finding books on the shelf to checking out e-books.  Call Kristine at (904) 827-6900 for more information.

    The newest phenomenon to hit Southeast:  a science club for kids!  Make-and-take science experiments for grades 2 and up.  Supplies and materials provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.  No sign up required!

     

  • St. Augustine Travel Club presents "Iran"

    Wednesday, January 9 @ 3 pm

    Join us for our FREE St. Augustine Travel Club get together.  Come and learn all about the historical, mystical and diverse nation of Iran.  The main focus of the Club is to educate, inform and enjoy armchair travel.
