  • MoneyWi$e Week Event: Saving Makes Cents

    MoneyWi$e Week for KidsThursday, May 2 @ 11am
    Children and their parents are invited to celebrate MoneyWi$e week. Learning how to save at an early age just makes cents (sense). We'll share some smart and fun ways children can start saving and earning money. We'll also be crafting piggy banks to store that new found wealth. If you can't make it to this program, check out some of our personal finance and money books perfect for little ones.

     

  • New Release Family Film Event

    Family FilmThursday, May 2 @ 3pm
    Celebrate the end of the school day with us cinematically. This month we are  showing a new documentary film that explores the intricate worlds of bees, butterflies, birds, and bats. It is fun for the whole family.   • Financial Planning Workshop

    Thursday, May 2 from 10am - 4pm
    In celebration of MoneyWi$e Week, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants will be hosting several free financial planning classes. Sign up for any or all three by calling 827-6900.

    1pm - 2pm   "Investing: How to Develop and Implement an Investment Strategy"
    2:30pm - 3:30pm   "Tax Planning for Individuals"

     

  • Money Wi$e Week: Teen Coffeehouse - The Art of Saving

    Calling all teen artists, poets, and scholars. Come share your drawings, sketches, poems, stories...anything. We will meet in the Teen Lounge and share our art and the art of others. Don't forget to bring your mug - hot chocolate, apple cider, and tea will be provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

    Celebrate Money Wi$e Week with guest host Steve Shanholtzer, who will let you in on the secrets of cash, credit, and earning a living as an artist (or in his case, a musician).
