  • Adult Summer Reading Program

    ReadingJune 3 - August 3

    Who says kids have all the fun? Starting the first week in June through the first week in August adults can participate in our Adult Summer Reading Program for weekly and grand prizes at the end of the program. Just submit a brief review of any book that you read during this time period and you’ll be entered for weekly and program end raffle drawings. The more you read the more chances you have of winning!   • Pre-Registration for Nature Detective Workshops for Kids Begins June 3!

    Nature DetectivesPre-register for our Nature Detective Workshops (formerly titled Fun with Flowers...for KIDS!), held Saturday, July 13 at 1pm and 2:30pm (repeat workshop) by calling the Library at 827-6950 or stopping by the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library's Reference Desk. Children ages 6-12 are invited to become Nature Detectives and learn all about lizards and how these pollinators relate to gardening at these hands-on workshops. Every child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks, and have fun learning all about our wonderful Florida lizards and how spot to them. These workshops are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, presented by the Garden Circles, and generously sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. These workshops also celebrate Viva Florida 500!

     

  • Great Books Discussion Group

    BooksMonday, June 3 from 3 - 4:30 pm

    The Great Books Discussion Group is currently reading short stories from the "Seven Deadly Sins Sampler."  The next "deadly sin" to be discussed will be on "Gluttony."  We welcome all interested readers. This program is made possible by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

     

  • Friends of the Library Book Sale Extravaganza

    Friends of the Library Book SaleTuesday, May 28 - Monday, June 3,
    from 10am - 5pm
    At our second Book Sale of 2013, be sure to stock up for summer reading and choose from over 3,000 fiction titles and an extensive selection of cook books all a result of generous patron donations all priced at $1. Other selections include classics; biographies and memoirs; history; travel; health; inspiration; art, music and poetry; foreign language; reference; nature; hobbies, music CD’s, and DVD’s all priced at $1 each. Children's, young adult books, paperbacks, books on cassettes, and VHS movies will be priced at 50¢ each. On Tuesday, June 4, all remaining items will be available at special discount pricing from 10am – 2pm.

     

  • International Affairs Discussion Group

    flagsMonday, June 3 @ 6:30pm
    The International Affairs Discussion Group will meet at 6:30pm to discuss international current events. The discussion will be moderated by Joseph Warner, retired U.S. diplomat and adjunct professor of Geography and International Relations at Florida State College at Jacksonville. A reading list of suggested books and articles will be available in time to prepare for the discussions. The topic this month is "U.S. and its Place in the Changing World."
