  • Computer Class: iPad Basics

    IpadWednesday, June 26 from 11 am to 12 pm

    Learn the basics of how to use your iPad. In this class we cover all the basics of apps like maps, phone, messages, calendar, mail, iPod and so much more! To sign up for these classes, please contact the Reference department at (904) 827-6950; or, simply ask at the Reference Desk.  Class size is limited. Pre-registration is required.

     

  • Family Game Time

    Family Board Game NightWednesday, June 26 from 3 - 6 pm
    The whole family is invited to the library to play board games, including Monopoly, Connect Four, Candy Land, Scrabble, Chutes & Ladders, Uno, and may more. Simply use your library card, or driver's license, to check out the games. All board games are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

    Celebrate summer time with us cinematically. Each week we are showing a new release with a G or PG rating, so it's fun for the whole family. Please call the Main Library at 827-6940 for movie titles and ratings. We'll have plenty of pillow seating, lemonade, and free organic popcorn, courtesy of Diane's Natural Food Market.

     

  • Summer Afternoon Gaming

    School's Out GamingWednesdays, June 19 & 26 @ 3pm
    School-age children, tweens, and teens choose what they want to play this summer at the Main Library. A selection of video game choices for X-box 360, PS3, and Wii consoles will be offered. Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be provided for players. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County and Sony.

     

  • FLYP Summer Reading Program: Timucuan Pyrotechnology

    Wednesday, June 26 @ 10am

    FL Public Archaeology Network logoThe Florida Public Archaeology Network presents Timucuan Pyrotechnology. In this hands-on program, children will learn about the tools and uses of fire used by the Timucuans, a Native American tribe who lived in Northeast and North Central Florida. All of our FLYP events this summer will have a Florida flavor in honor of Viva Florida 500. Please note: This event will take place in the Hastings Recreation Center gym, located at 400 E. Harris Street. Please ensure all guests wear rubber-soled shoes.

    Join Miss Kristine and Miss Alex every Wednesday for quality time with your baby or toddler.  Enjoy songs, stories, fingerplays, games, and so much more during this lapsit program.  Duffy the Storytime Bear is looking forward to meeting you under the parachute!  Older siblings are welcome to stick around for Family Storytime right after.

    We will be "Down on the Farm" this summer!

    Let's "Dig Into Reading" with a walk on the wild side.  We'll explore the jungle, the prairie, and the zoo.

    Want to know what you can do help protect the "wild side" of Florida? During this special visit by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, school-age children will learn ways they can improve natural Florida.  This Viva Florida 500 event is geared toward school-aged children.  This program is sponsored by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

    Little Ones Craft Time: Wednesdays @ 10:45am
    Preschool Storytime Wednesdays @ 11:05am
    Storytimes are every Wednesday through July 31. Baby & Toddler storytimes are aimed at children up to 18 months. Craft time is open to all children and is aimed at teaching scissor, glue and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs. Come for songs, stories, and fun. We look forward to seeing you all!! To ensure  everyone is able to enjoy quality story times, we have a maximum capacity (first come, first served) of 55. For more information on storytimes at other branches, please click here.

     

  • Summer Reading Program: LB Reptile Experience

    Join us for an exciting Viva Florida 500 family event. Ever look out your window and wonder what kind of snake that was lying in your yard? Gather the family, friends, and neighbors and come to the reptile show at the library. LB Reptile Experience will bring lizards, snakes, turtles and more to our library. This program helps educate children about the needs, conservation, and care of these wonderful reptiles.  To ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the program, there will be 95 tickets available 1 hour before each show.  This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.
