Ever look out your window and wonder what kind of snake that was lying in your yard? Gather the family, friends, and neighbors and come to the reptile show at the library. LB Reptile Experience will bring lizards, snakes, turtles and more to our library. This program helps educate children about the needs, conservation, and care of these wonderful reptiles. All of our FLYP events this summer will have a Florida flavor in honor of Viva Florida 500. Children of all ages are encouraged to attend; however, please be aware that FLYP Programs are geared toward the school-age child. FLYP events are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Want to know what you can do help protect the "wild side" of Florida? During this special visit by the the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, school-age children will learn ways they can improve natural Florida. Some of the hands-on educational activities include: discovering which critters live in local waters, looking at macroinvertebrates under a microscope, testing water salinity, dissolved oxygen, measuring turpidity, and viewing Enviroscapes. This free program is sponsored in partnership with the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County.

Use iPod Touches and Mac hardware and software to put together an amazing creation. Instructional Technology Coordinators of SJC Rose Kebe and Jesse Gates will lead this fun-filled workshop. Teen Tech Camp is aimed at students grades 5–9.
At Southeast, we're digging up the classics. Read these classic stories as a family then come to the library to see the movie. Please note that this is a family event and children must be supervised at all times. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library. This is an Academy Award-winning film adaptation of Marjorie Kinnan Rawling's novel about a boy’s attachment to a young deer. This 1946 movie is rated G. Request the book here.

Bartram Trail’s FLYP Programs take place at 10am and are held at the Family Activities Building (FAB) at Switzerland Community Church located at 2179 State Road 13. Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that FLYP Programs are geared toward the school-age child. Strollers and street shoes will not be permitted in the building. We'll supply all the materials, you just need to show up and use your imagination to create some original designs.
