Pre-register for these free workshops by calling the library at 827-6950 or stopping by the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library's Reference Desk. Children ages 6 - 12 are invited to become Nature Detectives and learn all about lizards and how these pollinators relate to gardening at these hands-on workshops. Every child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks, and have fun learning all about our wonderful Florida lizards and how spot to them. These workshops are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, presented by the Garden Circles, and generously sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. These workshops also celebrate Viva Florida 500.

Here is one of those rare and remarkable debuts that herald the appearance of a major new talent on the literary scene. Inspired by real events, this historical novel by Susan Carol McCarthy, is a wise and luminous story about a northern family, a southern town, and the senseless murder that sparks an extraordinary act of courage. Join us and share your thoughts of the book, while enjoying coffee and refreshments provided courtesy of the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County.

What haunts you when you lie in bed at night? For thirteen-year-old Conor, fear comes in the form of dread about the illness of his mother. It also comes in the very real form of an ancient monster outside his bedroom window. A Monster Calls is both a fantasy story and a darkly funny, moving narrative. Join us for a relaxed discussion and snacks. New members are always welcome.
