Bring your toddlers, friends, and family for a storytelling adventure and treats. The library's teen volunteers will be handing out sweets on the "Trail of Treats." Costumes are encouraged but not required. Entertainment is provided by Meredith Rae Music and this event is located behind the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library with parking to the south end of the building. Join us and Happy Halloween.

Throughout the month of October we invite you to check out our Brain Quiz Corner display at the Main Library. Each week there will be a new quiz with questions on stress and the relation to the brain/mind. One winner will be drawn from the correct quizzes for the week, with the possibility of winning Publix gift cards, gift cards for the Mainly Books Bookstore, reusable grocery bags full of healthy foods, and more! Sponsored by the BrainMatterNow Foundation and the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County. Check out some of the books we have on your amazing brain!

Who let the dogs out? Elementary students and beginning readers are invited to join our volunteer therapy dogs for a barking good time. Read your favorite stories to these clever canines and become a member of the Read to Rover Frequent Reader Club. Don't miss this great experience.
The dogs will NOT be at the Southeast Library this Saturday. This week Read to Rover will be held downtown at Francis Field for Ancient City Kids Day. Look for the bookmobile!

Celebrate Pro Bono Week at the Southeast Branch Library. Florida lawyers will be present to meet and speak with members of the public about issues of access to courts and justice. Lawyers will also provide guidance and information on referral to legal resources for attendees.

Enter our pumpkin carving contest. Teens and tweens (Ages 11-18) are invited to join us for an autumn afternoon of pumpkin art and hot chocolate. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED if you would like to carve a pumpkin. Please call 827-6900 to register. All pumpkins and supplies provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

Teens and tweens (Ages 11-18) are invited to submit original photographs that are dark, literally or figuratively. Snap a photo of a lightning bolt against a black night sky or of the whispy white shadow that creeps about your "haunted" house. An entry form, available at the library or by clicking here, must be attached to each entry. The winner will be announced on October 31st at the Teen/Tween Fear the Library program. Prizes will be awarded, thanks to the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.
