June 16 - August 2
We encourage all rising 6th-12th graders to stop by the Reference Desk to pick up reading bookmark reviews and participate in our Summer Reading Program which begins on June 16. Read whatever you like, write a short review for each book, and turn them in at the Reference Desk. All reviews will be entered into a weekly raffle for free teen fiction books from our prize cart. With your permission on the bookmark, your reviews may be posted to our library's website. At the end of the summer, three grand prize winners will each receive a gift certificate to The Bookmark, a great used book store in Neptune Beach. All prizes are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Tom Sherbourne and his wife Isabel live together on an island off the coast of Australia in the years following WWI. Their marriage is a happy one, but their attempts to have a child remain unsuccessful. A small boat shipwrecks on their island and its only survivor is a baby girl. Isabel immediately takes the child as her own, but Tom wrestles with the moral dilemma of the situation. As the years pass, the Sherbournes must come to terms with their decision, especially when they realize they have affected many others with their choice. New members are always welcome.
