  • Summer Reading Event: Children's Author Visit and Fun Florida Crafts

    St. Augustine A to ZThursday, June 26 @ 3:30pm

    The whole family is invited to join us for a special local children's author visit by Susan Calfee, the picture book author of St. Augustine A to Z: A Young Reader's Guide to America's Oldest City and enjoy making fun Florida crafts afterwards. Susan lives in Ponte Vedra and conceived her book right in our very library. See how much you know about our historic city with this interactive storytime for all ages. Copies of the book will be available for sale, with an author signing afterwards. Proceeds go to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, which gives us money for library books, programs, and more. Curious about the book?   • Toddler Time

    Thursday June 26 @ 11am

    It's Toddler Time at Main Library for kids ages 1-3. Join Mr. Andy and Mrs. Marcia in the large meeting room where we will sing, dance, read stories, and more. Seating is limited, so come early. If you don't make it into the first show, we have a repeat performance at 11:30am.


  • Summer Reading Event: The Science of Sound

    Thursday, June 26 @ 3pm
    The Florida Library Youth Program (FLYP) is back. This year, it is all about science so we will "fizz, boom and read" through some great programs. This week, we will learn all about the science of sound and explore a variety of music instruments to discover why they make the sounds they do.

    July 17 - Mark Alan Magician
    July 24 - Main-iac Science Labs pt.2
    July 31 - FLYP Finale Ice Cream Party
    Programs are designed for elementary school aged children and seating is limited so be sure to arrive early.


  • Adult Bingo For Books

    Do you love free books and playing B-I-N-G-O? Come on out to the library, make new friends or bring old friends along, and win adult fiction and non-fiction books. Everyone is guaranteed to go home with at least one book. Book prizes are generously donated by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine. Everyone is welcome and it's free.



  • Babytime

    Thursday, June 26 @ 10:15am
    Join us in the Children's Library, Thursdays at 10:15am, for a lapsit circle time for the wee little ones, ages 0-16 months. We will explore early, early literacy through rhymes, songs, fingerplays, and sensory exploration. Pre-walkers only please. Once children are able to run, they are ready for Toddler Time.

  • Family Storytime

    A favorite toy disappears. A friend moves away. A pet passes away. These are all experiences of loss that a young child might face. We'll explore this topic, but don't worry; it won't be all sad. We'll also read about how we help each other feel happy again and treasure our good memories.

  • Yoga For Kids

    Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility, lower stress, and improve energy. Learn to relax your mind and body with some simple, kid-friendly stretches and exercises. This program is for beginners and fun for the whole family.  It is recommended that you wear loose clothing and bring your own water bottle.


  • Art Lab

    Get crafty and creative with some out-of-the-box art. Experiment with different tools and mediums. Bring home some art that mom or dad will be proud to hang on the fridge. This series, which runs every Thursday through July 31, is appropriate for kids of all ages. Although plastic aprons are supplied, please wear clothing that you feel comfortable painting in. This series is sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.


  • Special Multi-media Author Event

    Daniel Wallace, author of the novel Big Fish, will meet the audience in a live Skyped interview following a presentation of the film based on his book. This program is presented as a fundraiser for the Florida Heritage Book Festival.  Everyone is invited and the suggested donation is $5.

  • Southeast Book Club: And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini

  • Summer Reading Event: Zoo to You

    The always fantastic, Jacksonville Zoo, brings live animals to our neighborhood along with their extensive knowledge of each one.

    Bartram Trail’s FLYP Programs take place at 10am and are held at the Family Activities Building (FAB) at Switzerland Community Church located at 2179 State Road 13. Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that FLYP Programs are geared toward the school-age child. Strollers and street shoes will not be permitted in the building.
