  • Free Nemours BrightStart Screenings for Ages 3 - 5

    storytimeTuesday, August 19 from 10am - 12:30pm
    Children ages 3-5 are invited to receive a free, 10-minute Early Literacy Screening at the library, courtesy of Nemours BrightStart. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis by a Nemours representative. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lie, and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school.

     

  • Just for Babies and Family Storytimes

    storytimeBird Island Park's Ms. Gail and Ms. Suzanne present programs for little ones.

    Just for Babies - August 19 at 10:15am; for babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby. Families with multiple children are encouraged to attend Family Storytime.

    Family Storytime - Held every Tuesday morning in August at 11am; for children 16 months - 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away. For more information on system-wide library storytimes, please go here.

  • Gentle Stretching with Lenore

    Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility, lower stress, and improve energy. Join us for a free hour of yoga with Miss Lenore. Registration is not required. Wear loose clothing and bring your yoga mat, if you have one. For more information, call the library at 827-6940.

     

     

  • Movie Night at Main

    Movie night at MainTuesday, August 19 @ 5pm

    Tired of being on the hold list and can't wait any longer to see that new release film? Then join us at the library for a movie night. Set in a futuristic dystopia, where society is divided into five factions that each represent a different virtue, teenagers have to decide if they want to stay in their faction or switch to another - for the rest of their lives. Tris Prior has an important choice to make but she has a secret that should anyone find out, it would mean a certain death. This film is rated PG-13. Please call the library at 827-6940 for movie title. We'll have plenty of snacks, courtesy of the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

     

  • Yoga Class

    Increase flexibility, build strength, and decrease stress while engaging in the ancient practice of yoga. Yoga instructor Sharon Sprenger will guide students through various techniques to help tone and relax the body. Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing.

     

  • Teen Lounge

    Teen Lounge is open for gaming on the PS3, Wii, or PS2. We also have board games, paints, and other crafts. Musical instruments are available as well.

     

     

  • Young Writers' Club

    Kids and teens are invited to practice various types of writing in a relaxed, fun atmosphere.

     

     

  • Bedtime Storytime

    Wear your PJs to this special session of our regular storytime where we do storytime backwards, starting with a craft. We're celebrating going back to school. This is a family program that is suitable for all young children.

     

  • Adult Crochet Group

    Tuesday, August 19 @ 6pm

    Adults and teens (Age 14+) are invited to attend the Project Lap Blanket crochet group at the Bartram Trail Branch Library. The group will crochet, or knit, blankets for cancer patients at area hospitals. All skill levels are welcome. Can’t come to any of the meetings? Pick up the crochet pattern at the Reference Desk in the library and crochet the blanket in your spare time. Drop off completed blankets, and any yarn you’d like to donate, during regular library hours.

     

  • Teen Anime Club

    Teens (Age 12+), are you looking for something different to do tonight? We're showing a popular anime movie on our big screen. Refreshments will be provided.
