AARP Tax Assistance

Thursdays,  March 19 & 26 @ 10am - 2pm

The AARP Tax-Aide program offers free, one-on-one counseling to help individuals prepare basic tax forms, including the 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, and other standard schedules. Counseling is available to all low-to-middle income taxpayers, regardless of age. No advance registration is needed, people will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Individuals must bring a photo ID, last year's tax return, and all relevant tax information with them.


Baby/Spanish Storytimes in March!

Spanish StorytimesFridays @ 10:15am in the Childrens Department

Join us every Friday for a fun Spanish/English storytime in the Children's Department. We will have lapsits for babies, rhymes, stories, music, and more. This storytime is conducted in both English and Spanish and is geared toward children and parents learning Spanish, but all are welcome. Bienveniedos a todos!

Storytimes run through April 29.
Baby & Toddler storytimes are for children up to 18 months of age. Craft time is open to all children and focuses on teaching scissor, glue, and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs, counting and colors in Spanish. Come for songs, stories, and fun. Baby/Spanish storytime consists of lap-sit rhymes, songs, and stories in both English and Spanish. We look forward to seeing you. 


You and Your Best “Four Legged” Friend

Our special guest will be Silke Royer from My Pet Camp located in St. Augustine, Florida. Silke will discuss how to create a healthy and well-balanced relationship with your dog. From good communication skills to fun games and activities you can share with your dog, she will also share some insights on creating a positive environment for your dog to ensure he/she will fit in well within our human social structure.  This program is open to the public.  Please No Dogs. Kids Event: Indigenous Crafts

Animal Training with The Science of Behavior

Be A Pack Leader Dog Walking Club will host a canine education program with special guest, Professional Animal Behaviorist, Courtney Keppen, from Pro Pet Train. Courtney believes in training pet owners to train and communicate with their pets through the science of behavior: positive reinforcement and empowering the animal to make their own correct decisions. St. Johns Reads: Mr. Flager's St. Augustine

Thomas Graham, professor emeritus of history at Flagler College, will discuss his latest book, Mr. Flagler’s St. Augustine. This work traces oil magnate Henry M. Flagler’s quest to transform the nation’s Oldest City into a highly desirable vacation destination for the rich, eventually expanding his coastal empire to encompass Palm Beach, Miami, Key West, and, finally, Nassau. Join us as Graham brings fascinating details of the Gilded Age to life. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.
