The AARP Tax-Aide program offers free, one-on-one counseling to help individuals prepare basic tax forms, including the 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ and other standard schedules. Counseling is available to all low-to-middle income taxpayers, regardless of age. No advance registration is needed, people will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals must bring a photo ID, last year's tax return, and all relevant tax information with them.

Wowzers! Greg from Boom Science will be back to teach us more exciting and cool science stuff! We've had rockets, made ice cream and square bubbles... This time it's all about air! In this great family activity, we'll learn how to go birding. There will be several birding guides available to take out groups of adults and children at the Ocean Hammock Park (on A1A). You may also participate on your own by downloading the packet and turn in your results to be entered into the nationwide bird count.

Come into the library to learn more about how to create a bird friendly backyard! After the program, we will provide you with your very own “go kit” to go out and participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count! This program is for new and experienced birders alike, and the entire family is encouraged to take part!

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants (Cathy and Marilyn) - members of the Garden Club of St. Augustine - are coming to the Anastasia Island Branch Library to show you how to use food and flowers to spruce up your home this fall. Raffle tickets are available for purchase from the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library to win the arrangements the Sisterhood create. Proceeds help sponsor this event.
