Join us in this month's book club by reading Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. A young boy in New York City, Theo Decker, miraculously survives an accident that takes the life of his mother. Alone and abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by a friend's family and struggles to make sense of his new life. In the years that follow, he becomes entranced by one of the few things that reminds him of his mother: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the art underworld. Reserve it!
Tuesdays, January 13, 20 & 27 @ 5:30pm
This free course, which will be developed over three sessions, will reveal what is necessary for people to become more emotionally comfortable than they are now. It will reveal a never-before recognized dimension of interpersonal communication that has a far greater curative potential for emotional problems than either "good advice" or the dream. It will present the hidden psycho-dynamics of bullying, suicide, murder and senseless mass killings. Please call the library at 209-3730 to sign up for this three-part seminar. Participants will benefit most by coming to all three sessions.
Thursday, January 8 @ 4:30pm
