Come into the library to play with over 60 pounds of LEGO bricks and pieces. Want to do even more building, but a different kind? Kids and tweens can come into the library to learn with us during our Hour of Code! We will have some iPads for kids to share, or bring in your own tablet. There is no registration or fee for this program.

Writer's Workshop: Healing Words, Healing Hearts

Domestic Violence: Writers WorkshopSaturday, September 5 @ 2pm

Join authors, Lauren Makarov and Katelin Maloney, to learn how to express your feelings and find your voice through writing poetry and short stories. Lauren is the author of Reflecting on Domestic Violence. She has counseled domestic violence survivors and used poetry in therapy. Katelin is the author of the novel Drowning and blogs about domestic violence issues. Although both authors are domestic violence advocates, the focus is healing through words and this workshop is meant for everyone. No writing experience is necessary. Baby/Spanish Storytimes in the Children's Department

Spanish StorytimesFridays @ 10:15am in the Children's Department

Join us every Friday for a fun Spanish/English storytime in the Children's Department. We will have lapsits for babies, rhymes, stories, music, and more. This storytime is conducted in both English and Spanish and is geared toward children and parents learning Spanish, but all are welcome. Bienveniedos a todos!

 

Relax with Raindrop Technique!

Give your feet a treat by experiencing Raindrop Technique. Inspired by the Lakota Indians, Raindrop Technique uses therapeutic oils for balancing and rejuvenating the mind and body. When properly applied to the neck, back, and feet, these essential oils can bring about electrical alignment and help relieve a variety of discomforts caused by imbalances in the body. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

Storytimes run September 2 - December 2. 
 
Baby & Toddler storytimes are for children up to 18 months of age. Craft time is open to all children and focuses on teaching scissor, glue, and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs, counting and colors in Spanish. Come for songs, stories, and fun. We look forward to seeing you.
