A Biblioclast historically carries a definition of a person who burns, mutilates, or destroys books, however not all biblioclasts are nefarious. At this fall art program, we will recast books as an art medium in support of libraries, books, words, and ideas. Join us in a transformation of damaged or poor condition books into original works of art by folding, cutting, manipulating and carving covers and paper pages. Create a book pumpkin for the fall and fashion stylish book leaves.
Wednesday, November 26 @ 3pm
There is no school and the kids are bored. Sounds like a perfect time to take a break and come to the library. Kids, ages 3-10, are invited to the library to learn about maps. We will make our own treasure maps and even go on a fun treasure hunt through the library. Sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.
Wednesday, November 12 @ 2:30pm
It's an early release day and Fall is in the air. Bring in the kids to create some beautiful Fall crafts. We will be making turkeys, owls, and more. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.
Thursday, November 13 @ 6:45pm
Join us for this month's book club by reading The Silent Wife by A.S.A. Harrison. Jodi and Todd are at a bad place in their marriage. Much is at stake, including the affluent life they lead in their beautiful waterfront condo in Chicago, as she, the killer, and he, the victim, rush haplessly toward the main event. He is a committed cheater. She lives and breathes denial. He exists in dual worlds. She likes to settle scores. He decides to play for keeps. She has nothing left to lose. Told in alternating voices, this novel is about a marriage in the throes of dissolution, a couple headed for catastrophe, concessions that can't be made, and promises that won't be kept. Reserve it.
Saturday, November 8 @ 2pm
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants (Cathy and Marilyn, members of the Garden Club of St. Augustine) will be showing you how to make some beautiful fall flower arrangements. If you wish, buy raffle tickets from the Friends of the Anastaia Island Branch Library to win the arrangements the Sisterhood creates. The raffle proceeds help sponsor this event. Doors will open at 1:30pm and light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.
Friday, November 21 @ 3:30pm
