Remember: New Stories for a Summer Afternoon

Story TellingSaturday, July 12 @ 2pm
People have always been fascinated by stories and there is scientific evidence that listening to stories is good for your brain. While sitting around a fire, stories were the first and only way to share information, dreams, to entertain, inspire, and connect with others long before humans had modern forms of communication. Enjoy a special visit by the Tale Tellers of St. Augustine, as they share an afternoon of stories. This free event is open to the public and is recommended for listeners 12 and over.

Come learn the science behind artistic design, elements of light exposure, contrast, depth, composition’s rule of thirds, or Fibonacci’s Ratio as the Golden Mean. Stolen LivesThursday, June 12 @ 6:45pm
Join us in this month's book club by reading Stolen Lives: Twenty Years in a Desert Jail by Malika Oufkir. Malika spent most of her childhood and adolescence in the court harem, surrounded by luxury and privilege. In 1972, her father was executed after an attempt to assassinate the king. Malika, her five brothers and sisters, and her mother were immediately imprisoned in a desert penal colony. After twenty years, the Oufkir children managed to dig a tunnel with their bare hands and make an audacious escape. Reserve it. All are welcome to join.
