Knit Wits Knitting Club

The Knit Wits is a family affair. Kids 8-17 are welcome to come in and learn to knit, or bring along mom so she can learn too. Learn to knit, or bring in something you’ve already started, and knit with the group. Please bring your own knitting needles, if you have them.

GBBC: Backyard Bird Count Gear Up

Join Jacqui from the Audubon Society to learn how to create your own bird-friendly backyard. After the program, we will provide you with your very own "go kit" to go out and participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count. To ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the program, there will be 52 tickets available 1 hour before the program at the front desk.

GBBC Event: Family Disney Nature Documentary with Flamingos

In a remote and forgotten wilderness, one of nature's last great mysteries unfolds: the birth, life and death of a million crimson-winged flamingos. Against a dramatic backdrop of never-before filmed landscapes, these secretive birds struggle to survive and prevail over danger and fate. Call the library at 209-3730 for movie title. Pet Camp Presents: Teaching Your Dog to Come

Does your dog run away when called?  Does your dog simply ignore you when called?  Do you constantly struggle with getting your dog to come by calling them repeatedly? Pet Camp will be coming to the library to help train the trainer! Come into the library and learn from the best on how to get your dog to come.

Gentle Stretching With Gina

This free class emphasizes stretching, coordination of breath with movement, and attention to alignment. The class is designed to create breath awareness, enhance balance, and increase flexibility. Stretching is great for those who are experiencing joint sensitivity, or overall stiffness. Wear loose clothing, bring a towel & mat. Presented by yoga instructor, Gina Mercado.

 

St. Johns Reads Event: Patrick Smith's Florida Documentary Viewing

Spend an hour with one of Florida’s favorite writers, Patrick D. Smith, as he takes you on a nostalgic journey to a Florida that exists today only in books. By watching this documentary, you'll get to know both the author, and the state of Florida, as this soft spoken gentleman introduces you to the Florida of his youth. You'll be touched by the true stories of his adventures along the way to writing his books, many of which are now modern-day classics. Light snacks provided by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.
