Hey teens! Are you wishin' and hopin' for that new Halo game? Well, bring your friends and come on out for an evening of gaming on Saturday, December 22 -- we have Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Wii, PS3, and the newest Halo game on X-Box 360! Snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Bartram Trail Branch Library.

Looking for fun for the whole family? Come on in and play Bingo for Books from 2 to 3 pm today. Everyone is guaranteed to go home with at least one free book. Books are generously donated by the Friends of the Bartram Trail Branch Library!

Are you shopping around for eReaders for yourself or someone special but don't know what to get? Drop by anytime between 10 am and noon on December 7th and play around with our eReaders! We'll have Nooks and Kindles and iPads available for you to fiddle with and staff on hand to answer questions. We currently have over 4,000 ebooks available to borrow for FREE with Kindles and Nooks and phones and tablets!

Adults and teens age 14 and older are invited to attend the Project Lap Blanket crochet group at the Bartram Trail Branch Library. The group will crochet or knit blankets for cancer patients at area hospitals. All skill levels are welcome. Can’t come to any of the meetings? Pick up the crochet pattern at the Reference Desk in the library and crochet the blanket in your spare time. Drop off completed blankets and any yarn you’d like to donate during regular library hours.

Jacksonville Genealogy Society Presents: The Trail from You to Your Ancestor @ Bartram Trail

The Jacksonville Genealogy Society will be holding a three-session Intermediate Genealogy Class, featuring research in the U.S. It will be held from 10:15 am to 2:15 pm at the Bartram Trail Branch Library on the following Saturdays: December 1st, 8th, and 15th. Topics will include: Genealogical identification; records & sources - analysis & evaluation; vital records (government & church); land records; immigration & naturalization; often overlooked sources; planning a research trip; publishing your history, and more. Certificates of completion will be given to those persons who attend at least two of the three class dates. There is no charge to attend this class and free parking is available at the library.
