Coin Collecting for Kids

Hey kids, have you been thinking about starting a coin collection? Then you'll want to come to the "Introduction to Coin Collecting for Kids" program presented by the Greater Jacksonville Coin Club. You'll learn about the history of U.S. coins, how they are made, where the mints are located, and get to see coins like half cents, Flying Eagles, Indian Head cents, half dimes, half dollars, and many more. Author Book Talk and Signing: The Letter Keeper by Joanne C. Spencer

Meet author Joanne C. Spencer as she talks about her recently published book, The Letter Keeper. Copies of her book will be available for purchase, or you may bring your own copy for signing. Ms. Spencer will share her motivation to publish the book on her own. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Bartram Trail Branch Library.

 

International Relations Book Club

This month we're reading The Revenge of Geography: What the Map Tells Us About Coming Conflicts and the Battle Against Fate by Dr. Robert D. Kaplan. Read the book and join us for a rousing discussion, moderated by Joseph Warner, retired U.S. diplomat and current adjunct professor of Geography and International Relations at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Book description: "The insights, discoveries, and theories of great geographers and geopolitical thinkers of the past look back at critical pivots in history and then look forward at the evolving global scene."

Book Sale

Do you love books? Do you love your library? The Friends of the Bartram Trail Branch Library will hold this month's book sale from 9:30am to noon - books of all kinds and items such as DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, and audiobooks, will be available. Proceeds from the book sale support programs at the Bartram Trail Branch Library.

 

Family Bingo for Books

Looking for fun for the whole family? Come in and play Bingo for Books from 2pm to 3pm today. Everyone is guaranteed to go home with at least one free book. Books are generously donated by the Friends of the Bartram Trail Branch Library.
