We need volunteers (Age 14+) and teens, you need volunteer hours. Let's work together; the library is a great place to volunteer. Orientation is mandatory and counts as your first service hour. Class size is limited; please call 827-6960 for registration information.

 

Adult Crochet Group

Tuesday, April 29 @ 6pm
Adults and teens (Ages 14+) are invited to attend the Project Lap Blanket crochet group at the Bartram Trail Branch Library. The group will crochet or knit blankets for cancer patients at area hospitals. All skill levels are welcome. Can’t come to any of the meetings? Pick up the crochet pattern at the Reference Desk in the library and crochet the blanket in your spare time. Drop off completed blankets, and any yarn you’d like to donate, during regular library hours.

Coin Club for Kids

Hey kids, have you been thinking about starting a coin collection? Then you'll want to come to the "Introduction to Coin Collecting for Kids" program presented by the Greater Jacksonville Coin Club. You'll learn about the history of U.S. coins, how they are made, where the mints are located, and get to see coins like half cents, Flying Eagles, Indian Head cents, half dimes, half dollars, and many more. Registration is required, please call the library at 827-6960 to reserve your spot.

Teen Tech Week Event: Teen Digital Video Production Workshop

Teens, please join Stan Cottle, director of In Search of Me Café, for a digital video production workshop using smartphones and tablets as your primary cameras. Also included are overviews of editing tools and techniques, GoPro and DSLR cameras, YouTube, Instagram, Vine, and more. He will also introduce the website, In Search of Me Café, an interactive, self-help website for teens. Please call the library at 827-6960 to register.

 

Prehistoric Pottery for Kids (Grades 2 - 5)

Florida Public Archaeology Network presents Prehistoric Pottery for Kids. Students learn about the advent of pottery in Florida and do hands-on experimentation using pay-doh to explore pottery-making and decorating technology. Space is limited and registration is required. Bartram Trail Book Club

Everyone is invited to discuss the dual memoir, Traveling with Pomegranates, written by Sue Monk Kidd and her daughter, Ann Kidd Taylor. She and her daughter share their perspectives and chronicle their travels to sacred sites throughout Greece and France. New members are always welcome.

 

 

Teen Gamers

teen gamers Saturday, July 26 @ 5pm
Teens in grades 6-12, bring your friends and come for an evening of gaming. We have Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Wii, PS3, or play  Halo on X-Box 360. Refreshments will be served.
