Find out how a young girl gets to keep her favorite dress no matter how big she gets in I Had a Favorite Dress. Also, laugh with us at Crabby Pants. Don't forget, music, movement, and a craft, too.

Take a ride with us this week as we tell stories about bicycles. We'll read stories such as Everyone Can Learn to Ride a Bicycle by Chris Raschka and others. We'll also sing, dance, and do a craft.

Teens, if you're looking for something to do, come hang out at the Teen Lounge. We have gaming systems, board games, crafts, and assorted musical instruments.

Teen Lounge is open for gaming on the PS3, Wii, or PS2. We also have board games, paints, and other crafts. Musical instruments are available as well.

Kids ages kindergarten and up are invited to learn beginning American Sign Language with teen volunteer, Lexie. Classes will be once per week on Saturdays and are informal and fun.

12 Years a Slave by Solomon Northrup. Read and discuss the book that inspired the movie! First published in 1853, the memoir was reprinted several times in the 19th century. An annotated 1968 version quietly drew attention and since 1999, Saratoga Springs, NY has celebrated an annual Solomon Northrup Day. Adapted and produced by Steve McQueen in 2013, the film won both the Golden Globe and Oscar for Best Picture of the Year, as well as countless other awards for acting, writing and directing.

 

Stay 'n Play

Aside from being just plain fun, playing is an important part of learning. Stick around after storytime for socialization time with blocks, puzzles, and other toys.
