Pre-Registration: Nature Detective Workshop

book cover "Those Lively Lizards"Children ages 6-12 may pre-register during the upcoming weeks for our Nature Detective Workshop to be held on July 25th at 2:00 pm. We'll learn all about lizards and how these pollinators relate to gardening at this hands-on event. Every child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks, and have fun learning all about our wonderful Florida lizards and how spot to them. These workshops are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, presented by the Garden Circles, and generously sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Hastings Branch Library. These workshops celebrate Viva Florida 500.

FLYP Summer Reading Program: Firefighters to the Rescue

Meet your local and state firefighting heroes and learn what they must do every day to keep us safe. Explore the vehicles and equipment of the St. Johns County Fire Rescue and learn what you can do to stay safe, too. Also, learn what it’s like to work for the Florida Forest Service during a fire emergency. All of our FLYP events this summer will have a Florida flavor in honor of Viva Florida 500. Please note: This event will take place in the Hastings Recreation Center gym, located at 400 E. Harris Street. Please ensure all guests wear rubber-soled shoes.
