YogaKids: Baby & Me Yoga

Babies (not yet walking) and mothers can practice YogaKids with Diane Appel, YKA. Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility, lower stress, and improve energy. Learn to relax your mind and body with some simple, kid-friendly stretches, exercises and activities. Please wear loose clothing and bring your own towel or mat. Main-iac Science Labs - The Rocketship Bed Trip with N. Jane Quackenbush

Join mad scientists, Mr. Andy and Ms. Marcia, as they dive into science. Young science enthusiasts, ages 6-16, are invited to join special guest N. Jane Quackenbush as she reads from her book The Rocket Ship Bed Trip followed by a special Astronomy presentation that takes a closer look at our galaxy. Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

International Day of Peace - Kids crafting program

Monday September 21  @ 3pm
Main Library will be celebrating the International Day of Peace with a crafting program in The Caldecott Children's Room. From 3-5pm, children and their families are invited to come and build some pinwheels for peace. The Hour of Code

Thursday, September 17 @ 4pm
Explore computer programming for kids with the world wide Hour of Code! Teens and pre-teens can explore a basic introduction to computer science and even learn basic programming skills using popular video game characters. The lessons increase in difficulty as you move through them so come back each month to improve your skills. This one hour program is designed to demystify code and show that anyone can learn the basics. There will be guided lessons as well as individual and group exploration. You can bring your own laptop or tablet or you can borrow one of ours. Supplies are limited. After School Gaming

Thursday September 24 @ 3pm
Join us in the large meeting room from 3-5pm for some awesome video game sessions. Challenge your friends on our Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox and Xbox 360. All games are rated E for everyone and everyone gets a turn. Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

 

 

Main-iac Robotics Labs

Thursday September 3 @ 4pm
Kids, ages 10-16, are encouraged to join our Main-iac Robotics Lab. Learn how to build and program robots using the Lego EV3 Mindstorms system. Space is limited so registration is required. Working with a team is highly encouraged. We will meet monthly to build and manipulate new robot creations. For more information on this exciting new program, feel free to contact Youth Services Librarian, Andy Calvert, at 827-6943 or at acalvert@sjcfl.us. The Lego EV3 Mindstorm kits are provided as part of a grant from The Barbara A. Kay Foundation, seeking to enrich the lives of children.

Toddler Storytime (ages 1-3yrs) every Thursday @ 11:00 and 11:30am

Storytimes are hosted by Mr. Andy and Mrs. Marcia and they run Sept 1st through November 24th.

Family Storytime is for children ages 4-5 and is held in The Randolph Caldecott Children's Room. This is an engaging story time featuring longer stories, songs and crafting.

Lapsit Babytime is a special storytime program designed for babies 0-12 months of age. It is a lapsit program that features songs, action rhymes, fingerplays and more for you and your baby. Come join the circle in The Randolph Caldecott Children's Room.

Toddler Time is a storytime program designed for children ages 1-3 years of age.  Join us in the Large Meeting Room for a lively program of singing, dancing and stories.

All Children's programs are supported by The Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

Black Light Science Party for Kids & Teens

Saturday, September 26 @ 1pm

We’ll make water glow, create invisible messages, learn about creatures that glow, and practice being a crime scene investigator by following a trail of secret clues. Come phosphoresce with us!
