Kids SSYRA Summer Book Club

SSYRA Summer Book ClubThursdays: June 19, 26 & July 3,10,24,31 @ 1 - 1:45pm
Kids entering grades 3-5 can sign up for our SSYRA Summer Book Club. This summer, Ms. Nicole will be reading The Sasquatch Escape by Suzanne Selfors. Call 209-3730 or come into the branch to reserve your spot in one or both of our clubs. Space is limited and going fast. We provide the book. The SSYRA Book Club is sponsored by RB Hunt Elementary and the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

 

Nature Detective Workshops for Kids [NEW date - was July 12]

Children (ages 6 - 12) are invited to become Nature Detectives at our hands-on workshops where we'll learn all about bats and how these pollinators relate to gardening. Every child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks, and enjoy learning all about our wonderful Florida bats and why they are so valuable and not so scary. These workshops are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, with special partners from Bird Island Park providing activities with a special bat craft afterwards. Space is limited; sign up for a workshop by stopping by the Reference Desk or calling the library at 827-6950.

Today's film is an uplifting story of a man struggling to fulfill a lifelong dream. His pals Russel, Doug, and Kevin join him on his high flying adventure as he seeks out a secret South American water fall. Rated PG.
