Did you love Magician Mark Alan's magic show yesterday or just love magic shows? Join us today as Magician Mark Alan presents our Teen Advisory Board volunteers, trained the last six weeks, to present their own magic show for children! The whole family is invited to come see the "big kids" perform magic! The 11:15 am magic show is a repeat of the first. These special magic shows and the magic workshops at which the teen magicians were trained by Magician Mark Alan are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Bring in your family to meet Captain William Mayhem (from the Pirate Museum) and be mystified by his magical pirate talents. See some cool pirate artifacts during this hour long pirate adventure show. This very special Viva Florida 500 and Summer Reading Wrap up program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library. To ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the program, there will be 95 tickets available 1 hour before each show. Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that the Summer Reading Programs are geared toward the school-age child.

Children ages 6-12 may pre-register during the upcoming weeks for our Nature Detective Workshop to be held on July 25th at 2:00 pm. We'll learn all about lizards and how these pollinators relate to gardening at this hands-on event. Every child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks, and have fun learning all about our wonderful Florida lizards and how spot to them. These workshops are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, presented by the Garden Circles, and generously sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Hastings Branch Library. These workshops celebrate Viva Florida 500.

Storytimes are every Wednesday through July 31. Baby & Toddler storytimes are aimed at children up to 18 months. Craft time is open to all children and is aimed at teaching scissor, glue and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs. Come for songs, stories, and fun. We look forward to seeing you all!! Wear your PJs to this special session of our regular Wednesday storytime where we do storytime backwards. Arts and crafts come first and then we will wind down with some favorite stories. This is a family program that is suitable for all young children.

Meet your local and state firefighting heroes and learn what they must do every day to keep us safe. Explore the vehicles and equipment of the St. Johns County Fire Rescue and learn what you can do to stay safe, too. Also, learn what it’s like to work for the Florida Forest Service during a fire emergency. All of our FLYP events this summer will have a Florida flavor in honor of Viva Florida 500. Please note: This event will take place in the Hastings Recreation Center gym, located at 400 E. Harris Street. Please ensure all guests wear rubber-soled shoes.
