Children ages 3-5 are invited to receive a free, 10-minute Early Literacy Screening at the library, courtesy of Nemours BrightStart. Registration is taken on a first-come, first serve basis by a Nemours representative. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lay and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school.

All children are invited to be read to by a teen, or practice reading to a teen, in the Children's Department - this program is presented by the teens of Ponte Vedra High School's Book Club. Select what you'd like to hear, read from any of our books, or bring your favorites from home. Please note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the program and to be a teen participating in the program, you must be a member of the Ponte Vedra High School Book Club.

Kids can learn about the advent of pottery in Florida and do hands-on experimentation using pottery-making and decorating technology. They will learn how pottery helps archaeologists understand a site and its prehistoric people. Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that the Summer Reading Events are intended for the school-age child. To ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the program, there will be 95 tickets available 1 hour before each show. This program is sponsored and hosted by the Florida Public Archaeology Network.

Storytimes are every Wednesday June 4 - July 30. Baby & Toddler storytimes are for children up to 18 months. Craft time is open to all children and focuses on teaching scissor, glue and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs. Come for songs, stories, and fun. We look forward to seeing you. To ensure everyone is able to enjoy quality storytimes, we have a maximum capacity of 55.
