Explore computer programming for kids with the world wide Hour of Code! Teens and pre-teens can explore a basic introduction to computer science and even learn basic programming skills using the Angry Birds platform. The lessons increase in difficulty as you move through them so come back each month to increase your skills. This one hour program is designed to demystify code and show that anyone can learn the basics. There will be guided lessons as well as individual and group exploration. You can bring your own laptop or tablet or you can borrow one of ours. Supplies are limited. Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

Join mad scientists, Mr. Andy and Ms. Marcia, as they dive into science. Young science enthusiasts, ages 6-16, are invited to join Main-iac Labs and have fun with our hands-on experiments. In this special FLYP edition of MAIN-iac Science Labs, we'll be making and experimenting with SUPERGOO! Everyone will get to make their own supergoo to take home for further experiments. It's time for the Florida Library Youth Program at Main. Join us each Thursday for another great summer program in the large meeting room. This year's theme is "Every Hero Has A Story" and we are kicking off the season at Main with a great new family film. When a criminal plot threatens the hi-tech metropolis of San Fransokyo, our young hero leaps into action with his tech-savvy friends, and his large round robot companion. Rated PG. Tweens in 4th - 7th grades (ages 9 - 13) are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out! No registration is necessary and it's free. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too. All young LEGO lovers, please enjoy our brand-new LEGO table in the Children's Department, purchased by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, so that this special program may just be for the Tweens!

Children ages 3 - 5 are invited to receive a free, 10-minute Early Literacy Screening at the library, courtesy of Nemours BrightStart. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis by a Nemours representative. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lie, and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school.

Just for Babies: 2nd and 4th Thursdays @10:15am; for babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby. Families with babies and older siblings are encouraged to attend Family Storytime.
Family Storytime: Every Thursday @11am; for children 16 months to 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away. For more information on system-wide library storytimes, please go here.
Please Note: When the FOL Community Room is not available, Just for Babies and/or Family Storytime will not be held. There will be no storytime programming on March 26, 2015 due to Early Voting!

Materials are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. No registration is needed and it's free.
