A gentle lapsit program with action rhymes, fingerplays, and first books for babies. For pre-walkers only, please.
Toddler Time 11 am
We'll sing, we'll dance, and share our excitement for books and learning at the library. Don't be shy and bring your dancing shoes!
Preschool Storytime 11:30 am
"Big Kids" get a storytime of their own. Longer stories, a variety of early literacy concepts, listening, and pre-classroom skills. Perfect for 3-5 year olds.

Ever wanted to meet a firefighter? Do you want to explore a fire truck and learn all about fire safety from our brave firefighters next door at Station 10? The whole family is invited to the library to do just that! We will be meeting at 11 am in the Children's Department before heading outside to explore the fire engine and learn all about fire safety. Please join us for this free, educational, and fun event!

Today's Family Storytime contains a special outdoor treat: Join Ms. Anne inside in the FOL Community Room for animal stories, songs and dancing, and then directly afterwards, go outside to Bird Island Park and meet some animals and explore the park! Emily Montgomery of Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve is bringing three snakes and a terrapin for you to learn about and see up close, and then enjoy the beautiful weather and check out the park which has many fun activities in the month of October. Bird Island Park is located directly behind the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library - in the event of rain, the animal encounter will be held inside the library. Today's Family Storytime celebrates National Friends of the Library Week with two special guest readers who love our library: Library Director, Debra Rhodes Gibson, and Ponte Vedra County Commissioner, Jay Morris! Ms. Anne will provide the songs and dancing and autumn bookmark craft and give-aways as we share stories about loving the library and reading. Our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library sponsor our special summer reading program events and "Un-Scary" Halloween Party, help us to buy new children's, teen, and adult materials, and so much more - let's celebrate them and our wonderful library!
Wednesday, October 24 from 3 - 6 pm
On the 4th Wednesday of every month between 3 - 6 pm, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games! Simply use your library card or driver's license to check out a board game or two from the Reference Desk and play anywhere in the library. Challenge your family and friends to your favorite games! Call the Library at 827-6950 for more details. All board games are generously provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.
Saturday, October 6 from 10 am - 12 pm
All children are invited to be read to by a teen or practice reading to a teen each month in the Children's Department - this program is presented by the teens of Ponte Vedra High School's Book Club! Select what you'd like to hear or read from any of our books or bring your favorites from home. Please note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the program and to be a teen participating in the program, you must be a member of the Ponte Vedra High School Book Club.

Children ages 3 - 5 are invited to receive a 10-minute FREE Early Literacy Screening at the Library courtesy of Nemours BrightStart! Registration will be taken on a first-come, first serve basis on this day by Angela of Nemours. Nemours BrightStart will be returning on November 27 to conduct more screenings at the Library for those not able to take advantage of the opportunity on this date. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lay and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school!
