Children's Summer Reading Program (Florida Library Youth Program - FLYP)

June 16 - August 2
All children, birth to 5th grade, are invited to participate in FLYP (Florida Library Youth Program) which includes books and other prizes for reading and fun, weekly performances from magician Mark Alan, St. Johns County Youth Services Staff including Slime Sisters Science and "Frozen" in July, and much more.  All performances, the celebratory ice cream party, and the $1000 worth of book prizes are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Just for Babies and Family Storytimes: July

storytimeMs. Anne presents programs for little ones. Held the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of July

Just for Babies: @10:15am; for babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby. Families with multiple children are encouraged to attend Family Storytime.

Family Storytime: @11am; for children 16 months to 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away. For more information on system-wide library storytimes, please go here.

3:30pm Thursdays, June 19 – July 31

Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library's FLYP Programs take place at 3:30pm on Thursdays beginning June 19 through July 31. We invite you to "Fizz, Boom, READ!" with us each week at the library. Children of all ages are welcome to attend; please be aware, however, that FLYP Programs are geared toward the school-age child. Don't miss Slime Sisters Science featuring your own Ms. Anne and Ms. Amy. These programs are brought to you by the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, with many thanks to the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for their generous support.

Kids (Grades K-5) LEGO Club

Kids LEGO ClubFriday, March 20 @ 3pm

It's a fun Friday Spring Break Event!  Come into the library to play with our LEGO bricks and pieces. We supply the LEGO bricks and fun - all you need to bring is your imagination. There is no registration or fee for this program.

 

 

Summer Reading Event: The Science of Music

Fizz Boom Read!  Learn about the science of music with some hands-on learning, science experiments, and a make and take project.  This science program is for kids in grades 2 and up.  All supplies will be provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

 

 

STAND Against Bullying with Mark Alan

Magician Mark Alan deals with a serious topic in a fun manner using comedy, magic, ventriloquism, musical routines, and lots of interaction to help give kids the tools to take a stand against bullying. This 45-minute program is intended for elementary-age children, but is fun for all. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

 

 

SE Kids Book Club

Read The Missing Gator of Gumbo Limbo by Jean Craighead George on your own time and then come to the library for book-related activities.  Learn about the Florida Everglades and the alligators and other wildlife that can be helped through conservation efforts. Stop by the Southeast Youth Services Desk starting Tuesday, June 10 to sign up to participate and pick up a copy of the book.

Get crafty and creative with some out-of-the-box art. Experiment with different tools and mediums. Bring home some art that mom or dad will be proud to hang on the fridge. This series, which runs every Thursday through July 31, is appropriate for kids of all ages. Although plastic aprons are supplied, please wear clothing that you feel comfortable painting in. This series is sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.
