SSYRA Summer Book ClubSSYRA Summer Book Club: Anastasia Island

Kids entering grades 3-5 can sign up for our SSYRA Summer Book Club. This summer, Ms. Nicole will be reading The Sasquatch Escape by Suzanne Selfors. Call 209-3730 or come into the branch to reserve your spot in one or both of our clubs. Space is limited and going fast. We provide the book. The SSYRA Book Club is sponsored by RB Hunt Elementary and the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

Children's Summer Film FestivalChildren's Summer Film Festival: Bartram Trail
Tuesdays in July @ 3pm
Is it too hot to be outside? Then come on in and watch a movie on our big screen. Each week we'll be showing a movie with a G or PG rating, so it's fun for the whole family. Please call the Bartram Trail Branch Library at 827-6960 for movie titles and ratings. We'll provide the snacks; bring your own drinks.

Main Library is hosting a summer Family Film Series every Wednesday through August 1 in the large meeting room. Bring the kids and enjoy free organic popcorn, courtesy of Diane's Natural Foods. In today's film, the weather has gone all wonky and food is literally falling from the heavens. Can Flint and his sidekick Steve set things straight before it's too late?  Rated PG.

 

Archaeological DigSummer Reading Event: Wacky Wednesday

Wednesday, July 23 @ 2pm

Come by for a special visit from Florida's Public Archaeology Network and the Library's favorite archaeologist, Sarah Miller. Take part in hands-on activities to learn about local prehistoric pottery, fossils, and more.

Mark Alan will amaze you with his Florida-themed magic during a special magical science program. To ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the program, there will be 95 tickets available 1 hour before each show.  Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that the Summer Reading Events are designed for the school-age child. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

 

Family Board Game NightFamily Game Time: Ponte Vedra
Wednesday, July 23 from 3pm - 6pm

Every 4th Wednesday of the month, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games, including Monopoly, Connect Four, Candy Land, Scrabble, Chutes & Ladders, Uno, and many more. Simply use your library card, or driver's license, to check out the games. All board games - including our new ones (Trivial Pursuit Family Edition, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Don't Drop the Egg, Super Mario Brothers Checkers, and Apples to Apples Disney Edition) are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Hey kids, beat the heat this summer by challenging your friends in our game room.  Wednesdays from 3:30-5pm, you can try out games on our Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstation 4 and Wii consoles. Gaming sessions begin as soon as the Family Film ends.

Join us for this exciting FLYP event and be prepared to be amazed by the magic of Mark Alan.

Bartram Trail’s FLYP Programs take place at 10am and are held at the Family Activities Building (FAB) at Switzerland Community Church located at 2179 State Road 13. Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that FLYP Programs are intended for the school-age child. Strollers and street shoes will not be permitted in the building. Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility, lower stress, and improve energy. Learn to relax your mind and body with some simple, kid-friendly stretches and exercises. This program is for beginners and fun for the whole family.  It is recommended that you wear loose clothing and bring your own water bottle.

 

Art Lab: Southeast

Get crafty and creative with some out-of-the-box art. Experiment with different tools and mediums as you learn about different cultures and artists. This series is appropriate for kids of all ages. Although plastic aprons are supplied, please wear clothing that you feel comfortable painting in. This series is sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

Summer Reading Event: Magician Mark Alan

Magician Mark Alan returns to the library for a special "mad science"-themed magic show. Don't forget to check out our special magic books display the week of the program to learn your own magic tricks and stay tuned for another special magic show at your library MC'ed by Magician Mark Alan and presented by local Ponte Vedra teens in August. fire truckCome and meet our local Super Heroes. The men and women of the Switzerland Fire House will bring the fire fighting trucks and an ambulance for you to explore. They will also teach us lots of way to be safe in our homes and neighborhoods.

It's the last episode of this year's Florida Library Youth Program. Help us close out a great summer with one of the most amazing scientific creations ever: Ice Cream. Summer Reading Event: Ice Cream Party

All our summer reading participants are invited to join us for our celebratory Ice Cream Party and to wear your pajamas, if you wish. St. Augustine's Jane Quackenbush, author of The Rocket Ship Bed Trip, will be our special guest with a story about how you can dream your way around the solar system. Copies of the book will be on sale with proceeds benefitting the library. Join us for ice cream, an out-of-this-world story, crafts, and more. Thank you to the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for generously sponsoring our entire summer reading program.
