Summer Reading Program: Dig In

Everyone is invited to join us for a fun Viva Florida 500 event. The “Spice Girls”,  CayANNE and Pepper (Ms. Anne and Ms. Amy from our Ponte Vedra Branch), will be here for an interactive program in our Ol’ Florida Kitchen as we “Dig In” to stories, songs, and more. Audience participation is guaranteed to get the kids involved. To ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the program, there will be 95 tickets available 1 hour before the show. Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that Summer Reading Programs are geared toward the school-age child.

 

Summer Reading Program: Crafts & Snacks with Pete the Cat

Come in to help us celebrate the end of our Summer Reading Program with the uber popular, Pete the Cat. We'll be making some totally groovy crafts while eating some cool Pete snacks. Be sure to bring your cameras. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

 

Summer Reading Event: Magician Mark Alan

Mark Alan will amaze you with his Florida-themed magic during a special magical science program. To ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the program, there will be 95 tickets available 1 hour before each show.  Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that the Summer Reading Events are designed for the school-age child. Summer Reading Program: Saltwater Cowgirls

Bring in the kids for a fun Viva Florida 500 event and dance to the music of St. Augustine’s own Saltwater Cowgirls as they serenade us with music inspired by the ocean and sea creatures. LB Reptile Experience will bring lizards, snakes, turtles and more. This program helps educate children about the needs, conservation and care of these wonderful reptiles.

Family Movie with Some Witches from the Land of Oz

(PG) A small-time magician is swept away to an enchanted land and is forced into a power struggle between three witches. Light snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library. Seating is limited to 40 persons to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the movie.  Tickets will be available up to 1 hour before the movie. Call 209-3730 for movie title.

 

Toddler Festival

The Kiwanis Club, Nettles Fine Jewelry, and the Early Learning Coalition are partnering with the library to hold a full blown festival for toddlers. We'll have music, games, stories, crafts, and a special Elmo character visit. The folks from Nemours BrightStart are holding early literacy screenings for children ages 3-5 years old. The St. Augustine Police Department will also be here to talk about bike safety and each child will receive a free bike helmet. You'll want to bring your cameras to this extra special event for our youngest patrons.
