Storytime will feature some special visitors this week in recognition of Fire Safety Week. Cora Clements, Senior Forest Ranger of the Florida Forest Service, and her friend, Smokey the Bear, and will read a special story. Children will learn how to build and put out campfires safely, and be given a tour of the wildland fire fighting vehicle and its special equipment.

There’s no need to rush out after storytime. Instead, stay, socialize with other adults, and maybe even relax. Toys and games will be provided for the little ones so that they can socialize, too.

Join Ms. Anne and our favorite Bird Island Park volunteers - Ms. Suzanne and Ms. Gail - for a special bird-themed storytime celebrating Viva Florida 500 with a craft and nature walk afterwards in Bird Island Park. If the weather's nice, we'll gather in the meeting room and then take storytime outdoors, so bring a comfy blanket. The whole family is invited to celebrate Viva Florida 500, our feathered friends, and our wonderful partnership with Bird Island Park.
Just for Babies - Held the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 10:15am; for babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby. Families with multiple children are encouraged to attend Family Storytime.
Family Storytime - Held every Tuesday morning at 11am; for children 16 months - 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away. For more information on system-wide library storytimes, please go here.

Join us as we celebrate our amazing Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library at Family Storytime for National Friends of the Library (FOL) Week. Special guest readers will include our Library Director, Debra Rhodes Gibson and PV-FOL board member, Carolyn Hirsch with Ms. Anne providing the songs, dancing, and special autumn craft. Children ages 3-5 are invited to receive a free, 10-minute Early Literacy Screening at the library, courtesy of Nemours BrightStart. Registration is taken on a first-come, first serve basis by a Nemours representative. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lay and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school.

All children are invited to be read to by a teen or practice reading to a teen in the Children's Department - this program is presented by the teens of Ponte Vedra High School's Book Club. Select what you'd like to hear, read from any of our books, or bring your favorites from home. Please note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the program and to be a teen participating in the program, you must be a member of the Ponte Vedra High School Book Club.
Wednesday, October 23 from 3pm - 6pm
The whole family is invited to the library to play board games, including Monopoly, Connect Four, Candy Land, Scrabble, Chutes & Ladders, Uno, and many more. Simply use your library card, or driver's license, to check out the games. All board games are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.
