"Just for Babies" and Family Storytimes

Just for Babies: 2nd and 4th Thursdays @10:15am; for babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby. Families with babies and older siblings are encouraged to attend Family Storytime.

Family Storytime: Every Thursday @11am; for children 16 months to 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away. For more information on system-wide library storytimes, please go here.

There will be no storytime programming on April 2 due to Early Voting and April 23 due to the Book Sale!


LEGO Club for Tweens

Wednesday, April 29 from 3pm - 4:30pm (held the 4th Wed. due to the Book Sale!)

LegoTweens in 4th - 7th grades (ages 9 - 13) are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out! No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens, including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too. All young LEGO lovers, please enjoy our brand-new LEGO table in the Children's Department, purchased by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, so that this special program may just be for the Tweens!


National Library Week: Family Storytime

Join Ms. Anne for a very special Family Storytime including special guest reader, Assistant County Administrator, Jerry Cameron, as we celebrate our wonderful library during National Library Week! We'll read some favorite books and dance to all our usual storytime songs with a special activity provided by our beloved Ms. Gail, Bird Island Park volunteer and member of the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. "Unlimited Possibilities" - this year's National Library Week's theme - begin at your library!


National Library Week - Musical Madness for Kids: Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra's String Quintet

Celebrate the National Library Week theme, "Unlimited Possibilities," afforded so richly through music! Youth Services Librarian (and former clarinetist!) Anne Crawford, the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, and the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, are partnering to invite Kindergartners - 5th graders and their caregivers to celebrate the magic that is music. The series continues in April with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra's String Quintet coming to perform for you and teach you all about their musical instruments. Come get a taste of the magical world of classical music!

Please note: the Musical Madness series is geared toward the elementary-aged child with Musical Storybooks (May 7 @ 11am) geared toward preschoolers. If you wish to bring younger children to any of these programs, please be mindful of the decorum expected for everyone's enjoyment. This special music series is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.


Free Nemours BrightStart Screenings for Ages 3 - 5

Thursday, April 9 from 10am - 12:30pm 

childrenChildren ages 3 - 5 are invited to receive a free, 10-minute Early Literacy Screening at the library, courtesy of Nemours BrightStart. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis by a Nemours representative. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lie, and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school.


After-School Crafts with Teens

Children (Kindergarten - 5th grade), and their caregivers, are invited to make crafts with the teens of Nease High School's Arts in Motion Club. Materials are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. No registration is needed and it's free. Please Note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.


MAIN-iac Science Labs: Hour of Code

Thursday, April 16 @ 4 pm
Explore computer programming for kids with the world wide Hour of Code! Teens and pre-teens can explore a basic introduction to computer science and even learn basic programming skills using the Angry Birds platform. The lessons increase in difficulty as you move through them so come back each month to increase your skills. This one hour program is designed to demystify code and show that anyone can learn the basics. There will be guided lessons as well as individual and group exploration. You can bring your own laptop or tablet or you can borrow one of ours. Supplies are limited. Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.


MAIN-iac Science Labs: FLYP edition - SUPERGOO!

Thursday, May 14 @ 4pm
Join mad scientists, Mr. Andy and Ms. Marcia, as they dive into science. Young science enthusiasts, ages 6-16, are invited to join Main-iac Labs and have fun with our hands-on experiments. In this special FLYP edition of MAIN-iac Science Labs, we'll be making and experimenting with SUPERGOO! Everyone will get to make their own supergoo to take home for further experiments. Seating is limited so be sure to arrive early. Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.
