FLYP Ice Cream Party

Tuesday August 4 @ 3pm
The Florida Library Youth Program is drawing to a close and what better way to celebrate than with an Ice Cream Party! All of the Main Library Bookworms are invited to feast on our free ice cream buffet. Pile on as many toppings as you want and kick back to enjoy some classic cartoons. The party will be held in the large meeting room so come on down and cool off at the library. After School Gaming: It's on!

Thursday August 27 @ 3pm
Beat the heat this summer in the large meeting room from 3-5pm for some awesome video game sessions. Challenge your friends on our Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox and Xbox 360. All games are rated E for everyone and everyone gets a turn. Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

 

The Hour of Code

Thursday, August 20 @ 4pm
Explore computer programming for kids with the world wide Hour of Code! Teens and pre-teens can explore a basic introduction to computer science and even learn basic programming skills using popular video game characters. The lessons increase in difficulty as you move through them so come back each month to improve your skills. This one hour program is designed to demystify code and show that anyone can learn the basics. There will be guided lessons as well as individual and group exploration. You can bring your own laptop or tablet or you can borrow one of ours. Supplies are limited. Main-iac Science Labs

Thursday, August 13 @ 4pm
Join mad scientists, Mr. Andy and Ms. Marcia, as they dive into science. Young science enthusiasts, ages 6-16, are invited to join Main-iac Labs and have fun with our hands-on experiments. Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

 

Friends of the Library Bag Sale

Monday, August 10 @ 10am

The book sale features all kinds of books and items such as DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, and audio books. During the bag sale, customers can fill a paper grocery bag with books for $3.00. Bags will be provided at the sales desk. The book sale is held by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine as a fundraiser. All sale proceeds support programs and other needs of the Main Library.
