Scooby Doo & the Painted Pumpkin Hullabaloo

Thursday, October 31 @ 3pm
Children of all ages are invited to join us in celebrating the arrival of Halloween with Scooby Doo and the rest of the spook-busting, case-cracking Mystery, Inc. gang. Kids can paint and decorate a small pumpkin (first come, first served or bring your own lil' pumpkin), then enjoy our comfy pillow seating for an airing of one Scooby's frightening adventures! Pumpkins are provided courtesy of the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County.

 

Pumpkins: A Storytime Adventure

Thursday, October 31 @ 11am & 11:30am
We invite all little "pumpkins," and their grown-ups, to celebrate Halloween at Toddler Time and Pre-K Storytime. Costumes are highly encouraged. Join our Children's Team as they share some of their favorite Halloween books, stories, and songs. Enjoy parading through the library after Toddler Time and making a spooktacular craft after Pre-K Storytime.

 

Storytimes @ Main Library

Weekly Storytimes @ Main LibraryEvery Thursday in October
We invite you to join us each week for all the laughs of storytime. We'll share some of our favorite books, sing songs, play music, tell interactive stories, make crafts, and have lots of fun.
Baby Time 10:15am:
A gentle lapsit program with action rhymes, fingerplays, and first books for babies. For pre-walkers only, please.
Toddler Time 11am:
We'll sing, we'll dance, and share our excitement for books and learning at the library. Don't be shy and bring your dancing shoes.
Preschool Storytime 11:30am:
"Big Kids" get a storytime of their own. Longer stories, a variety of early literacy concepts, listening, and pre-classroom skills. Perfect for 3-5 year olds.


Teen Halloween Party and Pumpkin Carving

JAAMMonday, October 28 @ 5pm
Tweens, teens, and young twenty-somethings are invited to a Halloween party.  Join us for pumpkin carving (first come, first served or bring your own pumpkin), play or be part of a LIVING Boardgame, and enjoy sweet & spooky treats. Feel free to wear a costume if you’d like. This free event is hosted by our anime club, J.A.A.M. (Japanese Anime at Main), which meets monthly at the Main Library.  Refreshments & pumpkins are generously provided by the Friends of the Library.

 

Tai-Chi: Enter the Healing Journey

You are cordially invited to begin a pleasant and enjoyable journey in the ancient Chinese healing exercise as you learn and practice Tai-Chi. In class, students will perform soft, continuous movements that will allow them to receive many positive aspects of renewed health, while developing internal stillness. Some of the benefits of Tai-Chi include: relief from muscular tension and anxiety, increased concentration and memory, enhanced sensory awareness, and improved balance. This free workshop is presented by Hector M. Ruiz, Jr., a certified instructor in Tai-Chi and Qi Gong.
