ROWITA award-winning artist, Wendy Tatter, will discuss and demonstrate the process of batik. Wendy is known to Main Library patrons as the artist behind the beautiful batik of Jean Luoma reading to children in a garden. This work hangs in the childrens' section of the library and was commissioned by the Luoma family to honor her legacy as one of the library's founders and long-time advocates. Ms. Tatter does many of her batik works through commission and maintains a gallery on Anastasia Island. At this program, Ms. Tatter will offer select artwork and gifts for sale and donate a percentage of those sales to benefit the library. A $25 gift certificate for her shop will be awarded at a drawing at the program. Patrons are welcome to bring their lunch. Beverages and snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine. Seating is limited.
