The master of Collinwood Manor in the 1700's, Barnabas is a rich, powerful playboy...until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique, a witch. She turns him into a vampire, and then buries him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed and emerges into 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better....Rated PG-13.

Lil' Pumpkin Patch Party

Lil' Pumpkin Patch Party Thursday, October 25 @ 10 am 
Little pumpkins have a Halloween party of their very own in our toddler and preschool un-scary party and parade! Carnival-style games, yummy treats & prizes, Halloween snow cones, add up to a pumpkin patch of fun for little ones!  Stellaluna will be flying by for a special visit, to share her batastic story through shadow puppets and lead a costume parade through the library. Be sure to bring your camera; it’s going to be super-cute! This FREE program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County.

 

Scooby Doo & the Painted Pumpkin Hullabaloo

Children of all ages are invited to join us in celebrating the arrival of Halloween with Scooby Doo and the rest of the spook-busting, case-cracking Mystery, Inc. gang. Kids can paint and decorate a small pumpkin to take home, then snuggle up on our comfy pillow seating for an airing of one Scooby's frightening adventures! Pumpkins & scooby snacks provided by the Friends of the Library.

 

Teen Spooky Shadow Theatre

There are a great many scary stories to tell.  Some are very old, and they are told around the world.  Some are very new, and may very well be true.  We'll be turning out the lights, eating popcorn, and sharing tales of ghosts, monstrous creatures, bogey-men, death, and other dangers through shadow puppet theatre.  What lurks in the shadows, hides in the darkness, and creeps underfoot?  Come find out....if you dare!

Teen Read Week: Gaming + Books

Wednesday, October 17 @ 4 pm
Tweens and teens are invited to celebrate Teen Read Week with an afterschool gaming session, featuring some of your favorite games on the PS3, xbox 360, & Wii! Just for coming we'll let each gamer pick out a FREE young adult book from our reading cart. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library.
