When you think of GMC does your head turn in circles on your neck? If that's the case, then this workshop will help you use it to make your stories stronger, focused, and motivated. We'll discuss what goals are worthy of our characters, what is a strong enough motivation to send them after that goal regardless of risks, and what conflicts will best prevent the characters from reaching their goals. Presented by guest author and lecturer, Elizabeth Sinclair. This program is offered through a partnership with the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County and the Ancient City Chapter/FWA. Free and open to the public.
Thursday, May 16 @ 11am
Celebrate Children's Book Week by enjoying a series of digital booktalks featuring children sharing popular titles by new authors or some of your favorite classics. The purpose of booktalking is to get the people you care about to read the books you care about. Children are invited to stop by the Children's Library anytime before May 16 to record their own booktalk. Unfortunately, this program has been cancelled!
Wednesday, May 22 @ 1pm
Return to the cracker days of old Florida as musician & entertainer, Steve Shanholtzer, shares his tales of Volusia and St. Johns Counties when wild hog hunts were common and life was hard but so much simpler. The program is free to the public, and sponsored by the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County.

Children and their parents are invited to celebrate MoneyWi$e week. Learning how to save at an early age just makes cents (sense). Join us for a evening out at the movies at your neighborhood library. Too bad we can't tell you what we'll be showing; that would spoil the mystery. Will it be a hot new thriller? A favorite classic? You'll have to join us to find out. We'll be serving popcorn & refreshments courtesy of the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County. Movie will have a rating of PG or PG-13.
