Young adults are invited to join our Teen Summer Reading Club, which is focusing on safe and creative ways teens can Own the Night!  Teens are invited to join local baking enthusiast, Nicole N. in creating some yummy, no-bake desserts. Make Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles, "Puppy" Chow, and many more scrumptious treats, all of which are perfect for a midnight snack.  Share with your friends or family....or not!

 

Teen Financial Literacy Workshop (Ages 15 - 20)

Are you starting your first job, graduating from high school, or heading off to college? Whatever the reason, every teen needs to learn how to manage money. The St. Johns River Chapter of Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the St. Johns County Public Library System are teaming up to offer this full day workshop to young adults, age 15-20. Subjects covered will be budgeting, saving, personal investing, using credit wisely, avoiding identity theft and more. Class size is limited so call us at 827-6940 to register! Lunch provided by the St. Johns County Friends of the Library.

Writer's Workshop: How To Market and Promote Your Book with B & N Booksellers

Learn how you as an author can market and promote your book within the Barnes & Noble Guidelines. Jamie Williams, Community Relations Manager, will discuss the “Barnes & Noble Acceptance Criteria” for getting your book available for purchase through Barnes & Noble and the “Author’s Guide to Arranging an Event at Barnes & Noble Stores”. Handouts will be provided on both of these topics. She will be available to answer questions following the discussion. Sponsored by the Ancient City Chapter of the Florida Writer’s Association and the Friends of the Main Library. Program is FREE and open to the public.

 

Kids Summer Reading Program: Yankee Doodle Llama

Yankee Doodle went to town, riding on a llama, stuck a feather in his cap, and said, "I miss my mama!" Children are invited to celebrate July 4th with this patriotic-themed crafting event. We'll be making patriotic bracelets, scratch and color pictures, an oversized American flag, and much more! Enjoy a special visit by Llama Llama from the popular children's series by Anna Dewdney. Sponsored by The Friends of the St. Johns County Library.
