Do you love free books and playing B-I-N-G-O? Come on out to the library, make new friends or bring old friends along, and win adult fiction and non-fiction books. Everyone is guaranteed to go home with at least one book. Book prizes are generously donated by the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County. Everyone is welcome and it's free.

Friends of the Library Book Sale

The Main Library One Day book sale features books of all kinds and items such as DVDs, CDs, and audio books. Hardback books cost $1.00 and paperbacks cost $.50, with many children's books priced even lower. The book sale is held by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine as a fundraiser. All sale proceeds support programs and other needs of the Main Library.

 

Hypnosis for Relaxation

Want to get away and relax but can’t find the time? After attending our free one hour session, you’ll leave feeling rested and ready to conquer the world. Dr. Beverly will explain the nature and benefits of using hypnosis for relaxation before leading participants through a guided hypnosis session. Dr. Chris Beverly is a Certified Hypnotist and graduate of the Omni Hypnosis Center. 

 To attend the Hypnosis for Relaxation Session, participants must be:

  • at least 18 years of age, or 
  • at least 15 years of age and accompanied by a legal guardian.

Adult Summer Reading: Based on the Book Film Series

Tuesday, July 21 @ 2pm

This Daphne du Maurier classic gothic mystery tale is told by the Second Mrs. De Winter. She’s a young bride on her husband’s estate and is slowly learning about her predecessor, the First Mrs. De Winter. The more she learns, the more concerned she becomes about having the same fate. This black and white film adaptation was produced in 1940, directed by Alfred Hitchcock and stars Lawrence Olivier.  131 minutes.

Join us every Tuesday afternoon during June and July at 2:00 pm for our Based on the Book Film Series. Water and popcorn are generously provided by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

Storytime

Family Storytime (ages 4-5yrs) every Tuesday @ 11:00am
Lapsit Babytime (ages 0-12mo) every Thursday @ 10:15am
Toddler Storytime (ages 1-3yrs) every Thursday @ 11:00 and 11:30am

Storytimes are hosted by Mr. Andy and Mrs. Marcia and they run June 4th through July 30th.

Family Storytime is for children ages 4-5 and is held in The Randolph Caldecott Children's Room. This is an engaging story time featuring longer stories, songs and crafting.

Lapsit Babytime is a special storytime program designed for babies 0-12 months of age. It is a lapsit program that features songs, action rhymes, fingerplays and more for you and your baby. Come join the circle in The Randolph Caldecott Children's Room.

Toddler Time is a storytime program designed for children ages 1-3 years of age.  Join us in the Large Meeting Room for a lively program of singing, dancing and stories.

All Children's programs are supported by The Friends of Main Library St. Augustine.
