REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Join us as we Dig Into History and welcome City Archaeologist Carl D. Halbirt from the City of St. Augustine's Archaeology Program. His talk will focus on what has been learned since the City of St. Augustine adopted its Archaelogical Preservation Ordinance in 1987, specifically the discovery of archaelogical deposits that made archaeologists reevaluate certain assumptions regarding the city's cultural heritage.
Patrons are welcome to bring their lunch to the Brown Bag Program. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library. Explore computer programming for kids with the world wide Hour of Code! Teens and pre-teens can explore a basic introduction to computer science and even learn basic programming skills using popular video game characters. The lessons increase in difficulty as you move through them so come back each month to improve your skills. This one hour program is designed to demystify code and show that anyone can learn the basics. There will be guided lessons as well as individual and group exploration. You can bring your own laptop or tablet or you can borrow one of ours. Supplies are limited. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Kids, ages 10-16, are encouraged to join our Main-iac Robotics Lab. Learn how to build and program robots using the Lego EV3 Mindstorms system. This is a 2 hour program and space is limited so registration is required. We will have teams of 3-4 kids per robot kit and will meet monthly to build and manipulate new robot creations. The Lego EV3 Mindstorm kits are provided as part of a grant from The Barbara A. Kay Foundation, seeking to enrich the lives of children.

Storytimes are hosted by Mr. Andy and Mrs. Marcia and they run Sept 1st through November 24th.
Family Storytime is for children ages 4-5 and is held in The Randolph Caldecott Children's Room. This is an engaging story time featuring longer stories, songs and crafting.
Lapsit Babytime is a special storytime program designed for babies 0-12 months of age. It is a lapsit program that features songs, action rhymes, fingerplays and more for you and your baby. Come join the circle in The Randolph Caldecott Children's Room.
Toddler Time is a storytime program designed for children ages 1-3 years of age. Join us in the Large Meeting Room for a lively program of singing, dancing and stories.
All Children's programs are supported by The Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

The sale features features many types of books, including fiction, nonfiction, text, reference, and children's books, as well as a large selection of special books. Also featured in the sale are DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes and audio books. Everything for sale comes from community donations or materials removed from library holdings. Hardback books are priced at $1.00 and paperback prices range from 10¢ to 50¢. All children's books are 25¢. Select special books and media items are individually priced at $3.00 and up. Audio books, DVDs, and CDs are priced at $1.00.
With the exception of the Bag Sale and Special Price books, St. Johns County employees presenting their current ID will receive a 50% discount on all book sale purchases.

The Ancient City Chapter of the Florida Writers Association presents Ron Whittington, author of the Parker Glynn thriller series and owner of a public relations business. His topic will be “Creating Your Website and Finding Your Social Voice”. He will address how to develop an effective website and how to set up social media platforms and the best practices for gaining followers.
This meeting is sponsored by the FWA/ACC and the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine. All book sales benefit the Friends of the Library. Doors open at 10am. All meetings are free and open to the public.

Meditation teacher, Kathleen Roberts, will open the group with a short breathing exercise and lead us into a silent meditation, where the participants will think peace. Give Blood. Save Lives. The Blood Alliance, a non-profit organization that collects, processes, and distributes blood to our community, will host a blood drive in front of the Main Library on November 16th from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. Anyone who is in good health, is at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), and weighs at least 110 pounds may donate blood. Picture ID issued by a federal, local, or state government agency is required to donate. Click here to make an appointment.
