Viva Florida 500 Event: Swamp Stories

Return to the cracker days of old Florida as musician & entertainer, Steve Shanholtzer, shares his tales of Volusia and St. Johns Counties when wild hog hunts were common and life was hard but so much simpler. Share an afternoon of laughter and learning with your brown bag lunch for this special program in honor of Viva Florida 500. Dessert and coffee will be served. The program is free to the public, and sponsored by the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County.
MoneyWi$e Week Event: Saving Makes Cents

Children and their parents are invited to celebrate MoneyWi$e week. Learning how to save at an early age just makes cents (sense). We'll share some smart and fun ways children can start saving and earning money. We'll also be crafting piggy banks to store that new found wealth. If you can't make it to this program, check out some of our personal finance and money books perfect for little ones.
MAIN-iac Science Lab

Join us after school for a hands-on, minds-on science program and work closely with our very own mad scientists from the Children's Department. Explore a variety of science topics through fun experiments, activities, and lively discussions. This month we'll be making and shooting off Bottle Rockets. All materials for experiments provided. If you can't make it to the science lab, check out some of our amazing science project books.
It's a MYSTERY Movie

Join us for a evening out at the movies at your neighborhood library. Too bad we can't tell you what we'll be showing; that would spoil the mystery. Will it be a hot new thriller? A favorite classic? You'll have to join us to find out. We'll be serving popcorn & refreshments courtesy of the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County. Movie will have a rating of PG or PG-13.

Friends of the Library Preview Book Sale

Friends of the Library of St. Johns County members are invited to shop books and other materials, which will be available for the general public at an upcoming Friends of the Library Book Sale Extravaganza. If you are not a member, please consider joining. The Friends of the Library organization is actively engaged in providing quality programs to the local community to help promote the love of reading. All proceeds from book sales directly support this initiative.
Friends of the Library Book Sale Extravaganza

from 10am - 5pm
At our second Book Sale of 2013, be sure to stock up for summer reading and choose from over 3,000 fiction titles and an extensive selection of cook books all a result of generous patron donations all priced at $1. Other selections include classics; biographies and memoirs; history; travel; health; inspiration; art, music and poetry; foreign language; reference; nature; hobbies, music CD’s, and DVD’s all priced at $1 each. Children's, young adult books, paperbacks, books on cassettes, and VHS movies will be priced at 50¢ each. On Tuesday, June 4, all remaining items will be available at special discount pricing from 10am – 2pm.
