Is Your Neighbor a Veteran?

Tuesday, November 5 @ 6:30pm
Terry Allan, a retired Army First Sergeant and a three tour veteran of the Vietnam War, presents a program highlighting how veterans adjust to their return home from service, how they tell non-veterans their story, and why they sometimes don’t. The program is being held in conjunction with the ongoing Library of Congress oral history project for veterans of all wars. The mission of the Veterans History Project is to collect, preserve, and make accessible the personal accounts of American wartime veterans so future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war. The St. Johns County Library System is facilitating this program in this area. If you would like to contribute to preserving these memories, please bring a new blank CD to the presentation. These will be used by the Library to record veteran’s experiences.  Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County.
