This month's Book Talk Cafe will feature Dr. Matthew Corrigan, who will discuss his book, Conservative Hurricane: How Jeb Bush Remade Florida. The book takes a detailed look at how Jeb Bush used enhanced constitutional powers and the force of his personality and intellect to enact significant conservative and political policy changes in Florida. This program is made possible by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

This month's program will feature two pianists, mother and daughter, Dr. Eda Mazo-Shlyam, and Dr. Rose Shlyam Grace, who will present a four-hand, one piano program. Featured on HGTV’s Flipping the Block, this couple will bring their hard-earned expertise and wealth of ideas to the library for a special presentation. They will provide design and remodeling tips, and share behind-the-scenes secrets from Flipping the Block, as well as show off some of their favorite before and after photos. This program is made possible by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Attention educators and parents! The Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library are hosting a one-day book sale featuring an array of children's non-fiction books. These books are aimed at ages 6 - 11 and only cost $.50 a book! Everyone is welcome to partake of this sale and proceeds from the sale benefit the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library through the purchase of new materials, special programs, and much more. All Dads and Grandpas are invited to join us for Family Storytime as we read books that celebrate YOU! Thanks to Fidelity Bank in Ponte Vedra Beach, Dads, Grandpas, and their families will also enjoy donuts, coffee, and juice at the conclusion of storytime. Take the morning off, Dads and Grandpas, and see what all the fuss is about! We look forward to having fun with you and all the Dads and Grandpas who come to Family Storytime weekly.

Tweens in 4th - 7th grades (ages 9 - 13) are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out! No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens, including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too. All young LEGO lovers, please enjoy our brand-new LEGO table in the Children's Department, purchased by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, so that this special program may just be for the Tweens!

Children ages 3 - 5 are invited to receive a free, 10-minute Early Literacy Screening at the library, courtesy of Nemours BrightStart. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis by a Nemours representative. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lie, and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school.

Just for Babies: 2nd and 4th Thursdays @10:15am; for babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby. Families with babies and older siblings are encouraged to attend Family Storytime.
Family Storytime: Every Thursday @11am; for children 16 months to 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away. For more information on system-wide library storytimes, please go here.
Please Note: When the FOL Community Room is not available, Just for Babies and/or Family Storytime will not be held. There will be no storytime programming on March 26, 2015 due to Early Voting!

Children (Kindergarten - 5th grade), and their caregivers, are invited to make crafts with the teens of Nease High School's Arts in Motion Club. Materials are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. No registration is needed and it's free. Please Note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.

How does technology win a war? Propoganda, according to tonight's movie! Do you agree? Teens (Ages 13 - 18 ONLY) are invited to celebrate Teen Tech Week and join our new Movie Club featuring primarily book-to-movie adaptations! Bring your friends, chow down on pizza and sodas, and let us know if the movie lived up to the book. You don't have to read the book to come, but the books are all available in the library. Just days after its release, we'll be watching the Part I adaptation (PG-13) of Suzanne Collins' final book in the "Hunger Games" trilogy, Mockingjay, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth.
