All children are invited to be read to by a teen or practice reading to a teen in the Children's Department - this program is presented by the teens of Ponte Vedra High School's Book Club! Select what you'd like to hear, read from any of our books, or bring your favorites from home. Please note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the program and to be a teen participating in the program, you must be a member of the Ponte Vedra High School Book Club.
Wednesday, February 6 from 5 - 7 pm
All 13 - 18 year-olds ONLY are invited to have fun with your friends at the library and play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3 (with the new Move), Nintendo Wii, and X-Box 360 (with the new Kinect) set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing! Snacks will be served. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library and our friends at Sony. Call 827-6950 for more details! Celebrate Valentine's Day by dressing up in your favorite red, white, or pink. Don't miss this opportunity to win adult popular fiction and non-fiction books while having fun playing Bingo for free. Join Ms. Anne for stories about birds as well as the usual songs, dancing, and fingerplays and then go behind the library to Bird Island Park to make a special "tweet" with Ms. Suzanne: pinecone birdfeeders! This special storytime is made possible by the partnership of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library and Bird Island Park and is sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Join us as we read fun bird books, then enjoy Florida birds in Bird Island Park while making birdfeeders for our beaky friends!

On the 4th Wednesday of every month between 3 - 6 pm, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games. Simply use your library card or driver's license to check out a board game or two and play anywhere in the library. Challenge your family and friends to your favorite games! Tweens in 4th - 7th grade ONLY are invited to come on out and bring your friends for an afternoon of fun building with Legos and hanging out at the library. No registration is necessary and it's free! Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens! Please Note: Starting in January 2013, this program moves from the 2nd to the 3rd Wednesday of every month! Also, thanks to the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, we now have pink Legos, too - tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club!!

Children ages 3 - 5 are invited to receive a 10-minute FREE Early Literacy Screening at the Library courtesy of Nemours BrightStart! Registration will be taken on a first-come, first serve basis on this day by Angela of Nemours. Nemours BrightStart will be returning monthly in 2013 to conduct more screenings at the Library for those not able to take advantage of the opportunity on this date. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lay and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school!
