Teens Read with Kids

All children are invited to be read to by a teen, or practice reading to a teen, in the Children's Department - this program is presented by the teens of Ponte Vedra High School's Book Club. Select what you'd like to hear, read from any of our books, or bring your favorites from home. Please note:  All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the program and to be a teen participating in the program, you must be a member of the Ponte Vedra High School Book Club.


Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants Presents Spring Into Flowers

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants (Cathy and Marilyn, members of the Garden Club of St. Augustine) is ready to help you discover the meanings of flowers and how they can come together in beautiful springtime arrangements. If you wish, buy raffle tickets from the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library to win the arrangements the Sisterhood creates, with the proceeds helping to sponsor this event. Doors will open at 1:30pm and light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

 

Take Your Child to the Library Day: Saturday Storytime with Ms. Anne

Roll out of bed, skip the Saturday morning cartoons, and join Ms. Anne for a special Saturday Storytime and wear your pajamas if you wish. We're celebrating Take Your Child to the Library Day and what better way to do so than with a storytime including all the fun of our weekly Family Storytimes - songs, dancing, stories, nursery rhymes, crafts, and more? The whole family is invited and consider signing your child(ren) up for a library card, too. It's never too early to get one.


Just for Babies and Family Storytimes

Just for Babies - Held the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 10:15am; for babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby. Families with multiple children are encouraged to attend Family Storytime.

Family Storytime - Held every Tuesday morning at 11am; for children 16 months - 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away. For more information on system-wide library storytimes, please go here.

St. Johns Reads Event: Florida Fun Family Storytime

This year's St. Johns Reads selection is A Land Remembered by Patrick Smith, with the kids enjoying a special Florida-themed Family Storytime. Join Ms. Anne for Florida stories for little ones and a special Florida-themed craft celebrating our sunny state. Find out about all the St. Johns Reads events for adults at our library branch.

 

JEA Home Energy and Water Evaluation Workshop

Saturday, January 25 from 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Become an energy detective at one of JEA's free one-hour workshops, where you and your family can learn about conserving energy, lowering utility costs, identifying problem areas in your home, and tips on how to fix them. Participants will learn how to use our FREE Do-It-Yourself Home Energy and Water Evaluation Kit. A limited number of backpacks will be available at this hour-long workshop for checkout. Adult Bingo for Books

Celebrate Valentine's Day by dressing up in your favorite red, white, or pink.  Don't miss an opportunity to win free adult popular books while having fun playing Bingo. All materials will be supplied by the Library and everyone will go home with at least one free book.

 

Computer Class: Genealogy Online

Who do you think you are? Learn the basics of using Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org to start discovering your family's history. Participants must have a basic knowledge of computers. Great Decisions: Foreign Policy Discussion Group
