Teen Tech Week: Teen Movie Club

MovieTuesday, March 10 from 5pm - 7:30pm

How does technology win a war? Propoganda, according to tonight's movie! Do you agree? Teens (Ages 13 - 18 ONLY) are invited to celebrate Teen Tech Week and join our new Movie Club featuring primarily book-to-movie adaptations! Bring your friends, chow down on pizza and sodas, and let us know if the movie lived up to the book. You don't have to read the book to come, but the books are all available in the library. Just days after its release, we'll be watching the Part I adaptation (PG-13) of Suzanne Collins' final book in the "Hunger Games" trilogy, Mockingjay, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. Dr. Seuss Family Storytime

The whole family is invited to join us for a Dr. Seuss-themed Family Storytime celebrating his birthday! We'll share Dr. Seuss stories and the usual songs, dancing, and more, and every child will receive a Dr. Seuss sticker and a "Happy Birthday" coloring sheet created by local cartoonist, Bob Drost. Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

 

Teen Gaming Night

Teens (Ages 13-18) are invited to have fun with friends at the library. Play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo Wii, or X-Box 360 set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing. Don't worry about waiting for a turn - we'll have board games to play. Snacks will be provided. Book Talk Cafe - Steve Boone

This month's Book Talk Cafe will feature Steve Boone, who will discuss his memoir, Hotter Than A Match Head, Life on the Run with The Lovin’ Spoonful. This St. Augustine resident was an original member of the chart-topping band when their first seven singles made it into the top 10 music charts.  This program is made possible by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

 

Adventures in Art: Liz Gibson

Dr. Gerson Yessin Music Series: Percussion Concert

How Outlandish: A Celebration of Scotland

The group meets monthly and the books to be discussed are from the 1st Series of the Great Books Reading & Discussion Program, Conscience by Immanuel Kant and Alienated Labour by Karl Marx. Ponte Vedra Forum - Joseph W. Zarzynski

Underwater archaeologist, Joseph W. Zarzynski, was a student of Rod Serling when the Hollywood luminary taught at Ithaca College in upstate New York. He will present a special talk examining Serling’s literary incursions into
