Understanding Your Unconscious

Everyone is welcome to join author Dave Shave at the Southeast Branch Library for this three-part workshop (other classes will be April 29 & May 6 at 10 am).  Shave will share information on exploring your unconscious in order to improve your life and the way you feel.

Join us for our Spring Community Conversation with Neil Armingeon, Director of the newest Riverkeeper in America's oldest city. Find out why we need to protect the beautiful Matanzas River and what you can do to help. All ages are invited to learn about getting involved with the Matanzas Riverkeeper. Celebrate Teen Literature Day: Book Talks

Attention teens: We are seeking Book Talks that celebrate teen literature to post on the Southeast Blog. Book Talks may be no more than 30 seconds and must be about a teen book. Fiction, non-fiction, and graphic novels are all acceptable. Book Talks need to be submitted to Miss Kristine or Miss Alex by Thursday, April 17. Celebrate Children’s Book Day aka Día with a game of multilingual picture bingo.  Win books and sweet treats from around the world.  This is a family program for children of all ages.

 

Earth Day Nature Film

In honor of Earth Day, children, teens, and families are invited to view a film about an adorable baby chimp named Oscar and his entertaining approach to life in a remarkable story of family bonds and individual triumph. This film is rated G. Light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

 

National Library Week: Bedtime Storytime

Wear your PJs to this special session of our regular Wednesday storytime where we do storytime backwards. Arts and crafts come first and then we will wind down with some favorite stories. This is a family program that is suitable for all young children.

How much do you love your library?  This much?  THIS MUCH?  In honor of National Library Week we will be reading stories about libraries and books.

 

Money Smart Week: Teen Coffeehouse

Calling all teen artists, poets, and scholars: come share your drawings, sketches, poems, stories... anything. We will meet in the Teen Lounge and share our art and the art of others. Bring your sketchbooks, journals, and your own coffee mug and we'll fill it with decaf coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or apple cider. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

National D.E.A.R. Day: Read to Rover

Elementary students and beginning readers are invited to join our volunteer therapy dogs for a barking good time. Read your favorite stories to these clever canines and become a member of the Read to Rover Frequent Reader Club. Don't miss this great experience.

Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R.) with Maddie, Clifford, and Cookie today!  We will read an excerpt from Beverly Cleary's Ribsy and have some fun giveaways.
