Wi$e Money Week: Adult Financial Planning Workshops

10am - Estate Planning: Learn how to protect your assets while you are alive and how to insure they are distributed according to your wishes after your death.  The discussion will include:  the objectives of Estate Planning, the probate process, key legal documents (wills, power of attorneys, etc.), trusts and taxation.

1pm - Investing for Everyone: Learn what you need to know to grow and protect your life’s savings including the “process” of investing, types of investment securities, the risk/reward trade-off, minimizing taxes and fees and working with an investment advisor. 

Instructors from the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants are offering FREE financial planning workshops. Attendees may participate in either or both of these classes by registering at the library. For information or to register by phone, call the library at 827-6900.

 

Women's Self-Defense Series - Week 3

Monday, April 6 @ 6pm

AAMAAll American Martial Arts concludes their 3-week series covering all aspects of women’s personal safety, self-defense techniques, practical application, and statistics. All participants should bring a notebook and pen or pencil. Participants are expected to attend all three classes, beginning March 23.

*Due to the mature content discussed and self-defense techniques taught, this course is designed for women ages 18+; however, a parent, relative, or guardian can accompany their daughter, niece, granddaughter,

aarp tax assistanceThe AARP Tax-Aide program offers free, one-on-one counseling to help individuals prepare basic tax forms, including the 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, and other standard schedules. Counseling is available to all low-to-middle income taxpayers, regardless of age. No advance registration is needed, people will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals must bring a photo ID, last year's tax return, and all relevant tax information with them.
